Fun House was a record company founded in 1984 by former Toshiba EMI director Kazunaga Nitta, initially wholly owned by Toshiba EMI.[1]
History
Kazunaga Nitta, formerly of The Rigănīzu and a production director at Toshiba EMI, founded Fun House in April 1984 with full investment from Toshiba EMI, and pop and kayōkyoku musicians he worked with followed him there.[1] In 1988 Nitta bought out Toshiba EMI’s stake; the Tokyu group later joined, setting up Tokyu Fun Studio in Bunkamura.[1]
Later years
Pop distribution moved to Polydor, while some kayōkyoku titles stayed with Toshiba EMI.[1] In March 1996 Fun House left the Tokyu group and became a subsidiary of BMG Victor; its recording division became the independent Birdie House.[1]
