City Pop Wiki is a free, English-language encyclopedia of Japanese City Pop — the urban, studio-polished pop made in Japan between the mid-1970s and the end of the bubble economy.

Sources & method

Album entries begin from a catalog number and are matched against Discogs for tracklists, credits and release history. Articles are written and checked by hand. Where the data and the record disagree, the record wins.

Contribute a correction

Every artist and album page has a Contribute box. Log in with your email to add links, photos of your copies, pressing notes or sourced corrections; an editor reviews each one before it goes live. For larger projects, such as translated liner notes, email info@citypopwiki.org.
