Tatsuro Yamashita is a Japanese singer-songwriter, arranger and producer, widely described as the architect of city pop. A meticulous multi-instrumentalist and studio craftsman, he built a sound out of American soul, doo-wop harmony and West Coast production, and has released more than 50 singles across a career of five decades.
