Ichiro Nitta is a trumpeter, arranger and producer who led the brass-driven band Spectrum and arranged horns and strings for Southern All Stars.[1][2]
Career
Nitta began as a trumpeter with Watanabe Productions, playing in backing bands for Candies among others. He formed the unit Horn Spectrum, which joined Amuse and in 1977 released “Yuya’s Theme” for the film Circuit no Ookami, and from the late 1970s into the 1980s arranged horns and strings and played horns on Southern All Stars recordings, including “Itoshi no Eri” (1979).[1] In 1979 he formed and led Spectrum, which debuted on 25 August 1979.[1][2]
Production
Nitta released six solo albums across two labels, the first on Victor in 1982, and wrote, arranged or produced for numerous singers including Masatoshi Nakamura (1980), Kyoko Koizumi (1986) and Tatsuo Kamon. In 1985 he founded the agency Daikanyama Production, which went bankrupt in 2009; he later became president of Narad Entertainment.[1][2]
